Bathurst spirit of racing : Revving up with Audi Sports Team Valvoline.

Updated: May 18, 2022

What a weekend! And what a race at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12-hour GT endurance race.

The Bathurst 12 hour had moments of tension, excitement, and triumph. Before all the action started, we were joined by Kelvin Van Der Linde Audi Sports Team Valvoline and reporter Briony Ingerson for a pre-race interview and a distillery tour and tasting.

Kelvin loves his gin and we had a fun time taking him through the process of making our signature gins and soon to be launched whisky. Nick Jones, Bathurst Grange Co-founder, gave a private behind-the-scenes tour with the world-class South African driver, discussing the growing industry and unique production methods for developing high-quality, Australian-made spirits.

“I love gin and the things that you can do with gin. At home when I have a weekend off from racing, it’s one of my hobbies. Make a nice gin, enjoy a sunset, put on the BBQ, and relax” - Kelvin Van Der Linde Audi Sports Team Valvoline

“There are lots of amazing producers in the Bathurst region. We’re proud to be creating spirits that people are enjoying here in Bathurst and all around Australia” - Nick Jones, Co-founder, Bathurst Grange Distillery

Kelvin and the Audi Sports Team Valvoline had a great race coming 4th overall but were disappointed not to be on the podium. At one point they looked like they could snatch the victory. But luck wasn’t on their side that day.

We look forward to seeing you again next year on Mt Panorama. In the meantime, don't forget to check out our online store for all your gin supplies.
